The Script

I am happy to report that the script has been signed off.

I left it alone for a month (largely due to being in Orlando... Ahhhh!) and when I went back to it today I was delighted to see that it didn't need the major re-write I had convinced myself it might do.

So, STORM's story is finished. And it has only just begun!

Scrambled Eggs

Or rather yesterday...

What a great brainstorming session that was! So much discussed, so many ideas ... and one character totally changed.

The session included the words, "Pint?", "Cig?" and "Stairs"

News

Tomorrow Nick and I will be meeting up to have a read through of the script. Two blokes in a pub, printouts, pens (red ones, of course) and a pint or three to aid the creative process. Yes, that's right - pints to aid that old creative process. ;)

Hello

Hi there - I'm John Davies. Well, you know that - it's tagged to my comment so... d'oh.

I just wanted to say, "Hello!" in a 'real' way and say how excited I am about this whole project. Oh yeah - and I'm the one doing the script!

When this has been filmed I will write a full entry about the whole process - I'm just wary of including spoilers or teasing to the point of making you go, "GRRR!" at this stage.

Having said that... I will just say that my vision of STORM was born long before I even knew this fabulous creation existed! It came to my mind in a caravan in Skegness in the mid 1990s while on a holiday with my parents... I wish I knew then what that tiny, tiny story would turn into...

But, as I say... more info later.

Apart from saying that the script includes the words: "record", "bread" and "believe".

A Storm is coming! Batten down the hatches!

Storm Film Update

So, things are still moving very fast and John sent me his 3rd draft last night. The opening 2 scenes work much better as does the final scene which I like to think comes full circle and brings us back to a familair place.

When we started this project I thought to myself that there is no point in rushing things so we can complete it to an unrealistic deadline. However, It's is moving at an incredibale pace due to the enthisiasm and talent of everyone involved.

Here is (what may become a regular feature in these updates) a teaser........

What exactly is written on THAT peice of paper.....?????

The way this is working......

...... so, John sends me his script which I love. I'm almost tempted to just film it as it is but then I read it again and start to think....... what if i certain character says this and as a result this happens..... all of a sudden I am emailing John thinking that I might get a credit....... John emails me back and agrees that I have an idea but re writes it in such a mind blowingly great way that I go back into my corner and realise that we really should leave things to the professionals.

Still, this is working. Every new scene is adding to the excitement and re writes of what we have is making it something to really look forward to.

Happy New Year

So here we are, it's 2011 and this is going to be a good year for the Storm film. We're off to a flying start with the first complete draft of the script being delivered ahead of time. John has indeed been very busy and is now tightening it up so it is as dynamic and powerful as possible. We could of course film it as it is and it would be amazing but the production team really want to deliver the very best they can.

In other news we have a potential cast in place, subject to auditions but I am sure that we have the right people judging by their impressive CV's........ one will be recognisable as he has made several television appearances so fingers crossed he will be available.....

So, what can we say about the story without giving too much away....? Well, it certainly doesn't hang about and dives straight into the action. There are genuine moments of fear, emotion, drama and comedy with a generous twist at the end.

In true "production notes" style the script includes the following.........

"Oi! Not the hair", "Chicken and mayo" and "leave the body"

Make sure you stay tuned for more updates soon and maybe a word or two from John Davies......
